In March 2024, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources issued 12 new mining licenses, marking a significant step towards maximizing the value of the mining sector as part of Vision 2030. These licenses included various types, such as building materials quarry licenses and mineral ores surplus licenses. The ministry aims to leverage the Kingdom’s substantial mineral wealth, estimated at SAR9.3 trillion ($2.47 trillion), across over 5,300 sites, positioning mining as a key component of the national industry.
