UAE Ranks High in Global Infrastructure

The UAE has achieved remarkable rankings in the 2024 Travel and Tourism Development Index by the World Economic Forum. It ranked 5th globally and 1st in the Arab world for road quality, 10th globally and 2nd in the Arab world for public transport efficiency, and 9th globally and 1st in the Arab world for port services efficiency. These accomplishments reflect the UAE’s significant efforts to enhance its infrastructure.

UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Suhail Al Mazrouei, emphasized that these results are a testament to the visionary leadership and ambitious plans laid out to ensure continuous progress in various sectors, especially infrastructure. He noted that these achievements affirm the confidence in the UAE’s long-term strategic plans, which are based on in-depth studies and precise analyses of future trends, enabling the UAE to adapt to global changes and effectively seize future opportunities.

Al Mazrouei highlighted the UAE’s high efficiency in these sectors, showcasing its status as a leading nation in infrastructure development. He stressed that the proactive approach and strategic planning adopted by the UAE in various fields are crucial in its ambition to become a global hub of innovation and excellence. This commitment to enhancing vital sectors and supporting innovation is essential for economic growth and positioning the UAE as a premier global business and tourism destination.

He also pointed out that these results are the fruit of collaborative efforts across different sectors, focusing on substantial investments to upgrade roads, expand public transport networks, and enhance ports, aligning with international best practices. This has positioned the UAE among the world’s best, and the nation remains dedicated to achieving global leadership by the UAE Centennial 2071, contributing to economic growth and improved quality of life.

For ports, the UAE’s high efficiency in management and operations has secured it the 9th position globally, making it a key player in global trade. These prestigious global rankings bolster investor confidence and attract international businesses looking for a reliable and efficient business environment, as well as enhancing tourism appeal.

Hanan Mansour Ahli, Director of the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Center, stated that year after year, thanks to the efforts of federal and local teams working in unity, the UAE continues to achieve prominent positions on the global map in various vital sectors, aligning with the ambitions of its wise leadership.
